Tibles is a digital collectibles trading platform designed to provide a marketplace for the buying & selling of digital collectibles. The company's platform partners with various companies to create digital trading cards, comic books, sticker books & multimedia objects- providing fans with multiple collectibles & an interactive collecting experience. With a new, expansive marketing campaign, there has been an increase in new collectors that may not know about digital collectibles or how to engage with the app. To begin this project, I met with the CEO, Project Manager & Creative Director to go over the project's scope.
By utilizing the empty states for My Collection, My Wall/My Stacks & Trading, we wanted new collectors to understand the value of owning an item which would lead them to make their first purchase.
This project focused on both onboarding & empty states, so I began by conducting research to discover the best practices for empty states designs & a competitive analysis of empty states across similar products. Next, I analysed & synthesised recorded Think aloud Usability Tests & user personas from the Tibles UX researcher to discover key themes & problems to be solved. With the insights, I began ideating & creating divergent designs to present to stakeholders & moved forward iterating on the chosen designs based on feedback. Finally, I created new UI components, digital assets & constructed a clickable high-fidelity prototype to review with QA along with annotations for hand-off to the Developers.
