Clear Session is a digital communication & collaboration platform aiming to help patients better understand & remember information discussed in all vital healthcare conversations. With a focus on Latina breast cancer patients & their clinicians, the goals of Clear Session’s stakeholder’s are to create & incorporate descriptive illustrations, rich graphics & nuanced interactive visual cues to explain & simplify complex medical information.
Patients often only recall a small percentage of medical information discussed during a doctor's visit, making it difficult for them to effectively communicate key details to their family members, potentially impacting treatment adherence and overall care coordination.
I was asked to join the Clear Session team to help create & incorporate rich graphics & nuanced interactive visual cues to explain & simplify complex medical information specifically for Latina breast cancer patients & their clinicians. My first goal was to establish a visual identity for Clear Session, a cohesive look and feel that could also incorporate a wide variety of illustrations & other graphics while organizing the design library so our team of developers & designers could all be on the same page. Additionally, I began creating efficient and intuitive user-friendly interfaces for both the Doctor & Patient Portals ensuring seamless navigation, making data entry intuitive & visualizing complex medical information in a meaningful way. This specific case study describes my design process while creating the 'Symptoms Reporting' feature which will be a way for patients to log their symptoms & for healthcare providers to monitor the overall severity, frequency & interference of symptoms in the patients daily life.
